Kratasol FLOWCAST
Areas of use
Kratasol FLOWCAST is used to produce highly effective additives for the production of reinforced concrete structures and products, it allows to obtain concrete mixtures of any mobility, incl. self-compacting. The additive is especially effective in the production of high-strength concretes (B40 and higher), while allowing for significant savings in cement.
Kratasol FLOWCAST can be used as a water-reducing component for the production of additives for ready-mixed concrete.
Advantages
- High water-reducing effect - from 20 to 40% (depending on the applied dosage of the additive).
- Application Kratasol Flowcast allows you to increase the strength of concrete by more than 25%.
- Low dosages of Kratasol Flowcast for the production of high-strength concretes (for medium-aluminate cements, the addition of an additive at a dosage of 0.15-0.20% on a dry product from the mass of cement allows the production of high-mobility P5 concretes of strength class B30 and higher).
- Allows to save considerably costs when laying concrete (the additive allows to reduce the time of vibration or completely to abandon the vibration when obtaining self-compacting concrete).
- Provides high values of early and final strength.
- It allows to save considerably thermal energy when applying heat and moisture treatment without the use of accelerators.
- The absence of chlorides allows the use of an additive for the production of reinforced and prestressed products
Recommendations for application
The additive is a concentrated solution (the polycarboxylate content is 50 ± 1%) of the water-reducing polycarboxylate of its own synthesis. It is recommended for use in the production of a solution of a lower concentration (20-30%) to ensure the accuracy of dosing of the additive.
Kratasol Flowcast is introduced into the concrete mixture together with mixing water, preferably with the last third of the mixing water. Do not add to the dry mix. After adding the additive to the concrete mix, it is necessary to ensure a sufficient mixing time for a uniform distribution of the additive in the concrete mix.
If it is necessary to ensure normal air entrainment into the concrete mix, it is recommended to use defoamers, and it is necessary to carry out appropriate laboratory tests (to select the type and amount of defoamer).
If it is necessary to further increase the frost resistance of concrete, the joint use of Kratasol Flowcast and Aeromix is recommended.
If it is necessary to improve the preservation of the mobility of the concrete mix (for example, when used to produce additives for commercial concrete), it is recommended that the Kratasol Flowcast water-additive additive and polycarboxylate additives regulating the mobility of the concrete mix be used together with Kratasol Flowret.
Krassasol Flowcast does not combine with additives based on polymethylene naphthalenesulfonates.
Dosage
To obtain a water-reducing effect of more than 20% - the recommended dosage is 0.15-0.3% dry matter based on the weight of the cement.
The range of recommended dosage supplements can be extended. The dosage of the additive depends on:
- chemical-mineralogical composition of cement (content of C 3 A, sulphates, alkalis, etc.);
- quality of the fillers used (content of silty, clay, etc.);
- type of the produced mixture (mobility, strength class, etc.).
The optimum dosage of the additive is established during laboratory selection. At the same time, the concrete composition is selected in accordance with GOST 27006 by any method that meets the design requirements for concrete and concrete mix, with subsequent adjustment of properties by reducing water consumption and optimizing the dosage of the additive. It is recommended to dispense with an error of not more than ± 2%. In the case of long-term storage or use of large amounts of additives, periodic homogenization of the additive solution by bubbling with compressed air or stirring is necessary.

Transportation
In liquid form, the additive is supplied in bulk in auto- and railway tanks, as well as in plastic containers of various capacities. Kratasol Flowcast is a non-toxic and non-flammable product.
The additive is transported by any mode of transport, in accordance with the regulations in force.
Storage
Store at a temperature of + 15 ÷ + 30 о С in a closed container. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, freezing. If the recommended storage conditions are violated, the physical, chemical and consumer properties of the product may change. Observance of the recommended conditions allows storing the additive within 12 months from the date of manufacture. In the case of the freezing of an aqueous solution of the additive after thawing at room temperature and homogenization, Kratasol Flowcast can be used in accordance with the recommendations.
Precautionary measures
It is recommended to use protective gloves when working with the additive. If the product gets on your skin, wash it off with soap and water. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Dispose of the additive according to local regulations, do not pour into the soil, water, sewerage.
Recommendations for the use of the additive are presented on the basis of the available practical experience with proper storage and use.
