On March 18, at the industrial site of JSC Pigment, in workshop No. 31, a new production facility for redispersible polymer powders for dry construction mixtures was opened (the stage of synthesis of polyvinyl acetate dispersion and the stage of drying redispersible polymer powders). This project was implemented as part of the company's set of import substitution measures.
The ceremonial event was attended by Acting Head of Tambov Region Yevgeny Pervyshov, Acting Deputy Head of Tambov Region Natalia Makarevich, as well as Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship Development of Tambov Region Eduard Nikulin. Representatives of the authorities noted that the launch of the new production is a major event not only for the region, but also for the country as a whole.
In his speech, the Acting Head of the Tambov Region emphasized that the task of technological development was set by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for the entire country. Without industrial development, achieving sovereignty is impossible.
- You really coped with this task today! This is a great achievement for the country, for the region and for your larger team! - he noted.
Let us recall that redispersible polymer powder is a promising product that is relevant not only for the Russian market, but also has great export potential. From a production point of view, this is a very narrow direction. Only two companies are engaged in the production of RPP in Russia, which do not cover the needs of the domestic construction market, especially against the backdrop of sanctions and the cessation of supplies of dry construction mixtures from abroad. Therefore, Pigment responded to the market demand in the most timely manner, having decided to develop one basic brand for now and purchase a new scheme for workshop No. 31 for the production of this multi-ton product.
In his welcoming speech, Andrey Utrobin, CEO of Pigment JSC, spoke about the progress of the project. Thus, the first stage of work on organizing a new production facility started back in 2023. Large-scale preliminary work was required - preparation of a specific site in the workshop, dismantling old equipment, pouring new floors, ordering new equipment, etc. Commissioning work for the new scheme was completed in the first half of 2024.
Since the main component for the production of RPP is polyvinyl acetate dispersion, the second stage of work in 2024 was the construction of a new scheme for the synthesis of polyvinyl acetate dispersion (PVAD) with a capacity of 10 thousand tons / year. In parallel with this process, the construction of the central control panel (CCP) was underway, which was equipped specifically for the new scheme.
Redispersible polymer powder is an additive for improving the properties of building mixtures: strength, plasticity, adhesion (sticking) and ease of application of mixtures. This product is new to the enterprise. The scope of application of RPP: self-leveling floors, waterproofing (rigid and elastic), bonded thermal insulation systems for polystyrene and slag insulation, tile adhesives of class C1 and C2, C2S1 C2S2, polymer putties, plasters. The release of this product is carried out under the basic brand KRATASOL RP.
Pressing a symbolic button – and the production process is launched. The participants of the presentation were able to see its main stages on the monitors of the control panel – the fully automated production is controlled by a computer program. All parameters of chemical reactions are displayed on the screens. Innovative technologies ensure high accuracy of operations, stability of quality characteristics of products, and guarantee the safety of the process.
The creation of a new technological line and its launch in a fairly short time became possible due to the coordinated work of highly qualified personnel. In this case, the project working group involved in the implementation of the project numbers about 300 people. The employees who took the most active part in the implementation of the project were awarded certificates of honor and gratitude by the General Director of JSC Pigment, the Acting Head of the Tambov Region and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship Development of the Tambov Region.
This project was implemented using a preferential loan from the Industrial Development Fund under the Development Projects program and Pigment JSC's own funds. The total investment volume to date is ~ 400 million rubles. In the future, this project is planned to expand, namely, to build a second drying line with a capacity of 5.5 - 6 thousand tons per year.
