On November 12, a presentation and launch of a new monomethylaniline (MMA) production line with a capacity of 25 thousand tons/year will be held at the production site of JSC Pigment in workshop No. 6. This project is being implemented as part of the company's import substitution measures. The ceremonial launch is timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of JSC Pigment.
It is worth noting that monomethylaniline is an octane booster additive used to increase the detonation resistance of motor gasoline. Tambov's Pigment has been one of the key domestic manufacturers of fuel additives for over 20 years. The company produces products under the ADA trademark.
A little about the progress of the project. Work on the construction of a 5-storey building to accommodate the new line began in September 2023. The first stages of the work were the design of the line, the purchase of the main and auxiliary equipment, the preparation of the construction site and the organization of the foundation. In May 2024, work was carried out on the installation of metal structures, the installation of the main equipment, the contact apparatus and the heat generator. The new line involves two main stages - contacting and vacuum rectification. In September, work was carried out on the installation of auxiliary equipment, piping with process pipelines, shut-off valves, connection of electrical equipment and instrumentation. In October, commissioning work was carried out and the production of MMA was launched.
It is worth noting that this production is built on the basis of deep recovery of waste heat, used to heat the original products and implement auxiliary stages of production. This allows to reduce the need for external provision of production with energy resources and emissions into the atmosphere of natural gas combustion products from energy complexes. The workshop uses closed water supply circuits, which has a positive effect on the environment. This technology is practically waste-free.
The new line includes a two-stage system for capturing useful components from waste gases of production, which increases both the environmental friendliness and the cost-effectiveness of the plant. In the future, it is planned to introduce into MMA production the technology of complete catalytic oxidation of waste gases with the production of additional thermal energy.
The construction of such a serious object is a big team effort. The project itself was developed by a Lipetsk company, which carries out the author's supervision of the installation works. The project working group, which is involved in the implementation of the project, numbers about 900 people.
This project is being implemented with the support of federal budget funds under RF Government Resolution No. 3 of 03.01.2014. The total investment volume to date is more than 1 billion rubles.
We invite representatives of regional media to take part in the event at the address: Tambov, Montazhnikov Street, 1.
