On March 18, at the industrial site of JSC Pigment, in workshop No. 31, a new production facility for redispersible polymer powders for dry construction mixtures will be opened (the stage of synthesis of polyvinyl acetate dispersion and the stage of drying redispersible polymer powders). This project is being implemented as part of the company's set of import substitution measures.
About the product. Redispersible polymer powder is an additive for improving the properties of building mixtures : strength, plasticity, adhesion (sticking) and ease of application of mixtures. This product is new to the enterprise. Scope of application of RPP: self-leveling floors, waterproofing (rigid and elastic), bonded thermal insulation systems for polystyrene and slag insulation, tile adhesives of class C1 and C2, C2S1 C2S2, polymer putties, plasters. This product is released under the basic brand KRATASOL RP .
It should be noted that redispersible polymer powder is a promising product that is relevant not only for the Russian market, but also has great export potential. From a production point of view, this is a very narrow direction. Only two companies are engaged in the production of redispersible polymer powder in Russia, which do not cover the needs of the domestic construction market, especially against the backdrop of sanctions and the cessation of supplies of dry construction mixtures from abroad. Therefore, Pigment responded to the market demand in the most timely manner, having decided to develop one basic brand for now and purchase a new scheme for workshop No. 31 for the production of this multi-ton product.
A little about the progress of the project. The first stage of work on organizing a new production started back in 2023. Large-scale preliminary work was required - preparation of a certain area in the workshop, dismantling of old equipment, pouring new floors, ordering new equipment, etc. Commissioning work of the new scheme was completed in the first half of 2024.
Since the main component for the production of RPP is polyvinyl acetate dispersion, the second stage of work in 2024 was the construction of a new scheme for the synthesis of polyvinyl acetate dispersion (PVAD) with a capacity of 10 thousand tons / year. In parallel with this process, the construction of the central control panel (CCP) was underway, which was equipped specifically for the new scheme.
It is worth noting that the condensate obtained as a result of heating the main equipment during the synthesis of PVAD is used as secondary heat in the production of other products in workshop No. 31.
This project was implemented using a preferential loan from the Industrial Development Fund under the Development Projects program and Pigment JSC's own funds. The total investment volume to date is ~ 400 million rubles. In the future, this project is planned to expand, namely, to build a second drying line with a capacity of 5.5 - 6 thousand tons per year.
